Russian stocks to open flat on neutral environment
MOSCOW, Sep 8 (PRIME) -- Russian stocks are likely to open flat on Monday amid neutral foreign background, analysts said.
“We expect the start of the trading session to be neutral and suppose that the MICEX index will climb 1,480 points during the day,” Promsvyzbank senior analyst Oleg Shagov said.
The background prior to the market’s opening is close to neutral with U.S. futures easing, Asian floors showing no single dynamics and Brent oil prices consolidating around current levels, losing only 0.04% to U.S. $100.78 per barrel.
“Consolidating U.S. floors and falling oil prices on the commodities market will provide a flat opening of the Russian market,” Denis Khripushin, analyst at 2trade.ru, said.
Investors will watch for the release of U.K.’s Halifax house price index, Germany’s trade balance, E.U. investor sentiment index Sentix and U.S. consumer loan data, while U.S. Secretary of Treasury Jacob Lew is to make a speech today.
